School Transportation
Welcome to HC Transportation!
At Henderson Collegiate, we believe every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or socio-economic status. Our free bus transportation program is a vital part of this commitment, ensuring that all students can attend school safely and reliably, no matter where they live.
We provide free, accessible bus routes within Vance County to serve families across our community. Our buses are operated by trained, caring staff who prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, reinforcing our mission to create a welcoming, supportive environment where all students can thrive.
By removing transportation barriers, we empower families and students to focus on academic success, character development, and preparing for college. Our bus service reflects Henderson Collegiate’s dedication to equity, opportunity, and climbing the mountain to and through college—because every student deserves the chance to shape their own destiny.

Free Transportation
While NC charter schools are not required to provide bus transportation, Henderson Collegiate does. We believe an investment into these free services for our K-12 Pride provides significant benefits to low-income students, helping to create equitable access to education and fostering academic success. Here's how:
-
Improves School Attendance - Reliable transportation ensures students can attend school consistently, reducing absenteeism caused by lack of access to safe and affordable travel options.
-
Removes Financial Barriers - Families save on transportation costs, such as gas or car maintenance, which can be a significant burden for low-income households.
-
Ensures Safety and Reliability - School buses provide a secure, consistent, and supervised mode of transportation, reducing risks associated with walking or using unreliable public transportation.
-
Promotes Educational Equity - By ensuring all students can reach school regardless of their financial situation, transportation services level the playing field, giving every child an equal opportunity to learn and succeed.
-
Supports Parent and Caregiver Employment - Free transportation reduces the burden on parents to arrange or provide transportation, allowing them to focus on work or other responsibilities.
-
Encourages Participation in School Activities - Access to transportation facilitates involvement in extracurricular programs, tutoring, and after-school events, which are critical for social development and academic achievement.
-
Builds Community Connections - Riding the bus fosters relationships among students from diverse backgrounds, helping to create a more inclusive and supportive school community.
By providing free transportation, Henderson Collegiate demonstrates our commitment to breaking down barriers, ensuring every child has a fair chance to succeed academically and thrive socially.
