Family 2023-2024

Having attended this school for over a decade...one of its biggest positives is the strong support system. From middle school to now, teachers and students alike embrace the motto "if you want more, you must do more," creating an encouraging environment that pushes everyone to strive for excellence. This culture of motivation has been a constant throughout my time here, helping students reach their potential. - Senior Student

What does it mean to be part of our Pride?

Students feel supported and challenged to reach their academic dreams!

Join us from elementary through high school and receive the strongest and most comprehensive college prep curriculum in the area. We have a full athletic program, arts, technology, 12 AP core classes, and robust offerings in Spanish. We consistently receive several top distinctions that rank us among the best of all North Carolina public schools.

Students feel physically safe, welcomed, and cared about in a loving environment.

When we say family of schools, we mean it. From teachers, to staff, we love our students for who they are, we help them develop their own unique voices, and we take great care to ensure they have a safe campus where they can grow as people.

Students always have their eyes on college, and beyond.

From elementary to high school, they are always working towards getting into the college of their choice and a meaningful life after that. Starting in kindergarten, they learn about college, and when the time comes, they have the resources of our dedicated college counseling department. We even take our students on numerous college visits – many will visit up to 20 different colleges before graduating!

Director of Alumni Success 2024

Students have high quality teachers who stick around, work together, and value parents and caregiver feedback.

We have one of the strongest instructional coaching programs of any public school in North Carolina. Our quality teachers, coaches, and staff keep returning year after year. We are a tight knit team and community with ourselves and with parents and caregivers. We’re here to support both students and their families, so we always encourage dialogue, listening, and doing all that we can to shape students’ lives both at-home, and at school, for the better.

And more than anything, students are always expected to rise to meet high expectations, academically and socially.

We want students to be able to become the best version of themselves. In our years of experience, we’ve learned they can only do that when they are taught that character matters more than academics, that success isn’t purely grades, and that building relationships, treating others with respect, and fighting for what’s right are consistently valued and encouraged. In numbers, that always means 51% character, 49% academics.

From elementary to high school, as one pride, we take care to instill and practice our school values: Pride, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Enthusiasm (PRIDE).

And we use these values ourselves, along with grit, passion, and commitment to help students climb the mountain to and through the college of their choice, because at Henderson Collegiate schools, we’re behind our students every step of the way!

Visit Henderson Collegiate today.
We’d love to welcome YOU to the Pride!
